A common use of PC*MILER Web is to visualize different routes based on different route options. For example, you might want to see the different routes generated when using or avoiding toll roads, using or avoiding hazmat-restricted roads, or many other scenarios.

In the modern version of PC*MILER Web, all route options are set using a preset, named collection of settings called a Vehicle Routing Profile. PC*MILER includes a selection of default profiles based on the most common commercial vehicle types on the road. You can also use these default profiles as a basis to create your own custom profiles.

Route Testing

If you regularly test different routes with different settings, we recommend creating your own selection of custom profiles based on those testing scenarios. That way, when you add stops to run a route in the route card, you can easily and quickly select a profile in the drop-down menu based on the scenario you want to test.
